Optimism and hope

peace, prosperity and lots of other very positive words are floating around today - everywhere I turn.

He did it. I didn't think the American people were ready for their first black president but he proved me wrong - and I am so glad he did.

The four years ahead of him will be tough. I hope he has the strength and the support to do some of the things that need to be done.

It may well be my socialist surroundings, my belief in collective responsibility or my environmental awareness, but I have never been so interested or so pleased by the results of an American presidential election.
There is hope in the world again.
